Nzoner's Game Room>What is the best restaurant in KC?
TLO 03:44 PM 04-24-2024
I'm not super picky about food type - I'm just looking at what restaurant would qualify to you as "the best" in Kansas City.

Give me some examples of food offered, atmosphere, price, etc.

Ate at 801 Chop House some years ago when visiting KC. It was good if memory serves me. They kept bugging me to buy a bottle of wine though. They were relentless.

Q39 is my "must have bbq" when I come into town. Never had anything there that I didn't love. I get the brisket and burnt ends and add a rib. Mouth watering.

Lots of good suggestions but our favorite place is Le Fou Frogs especially weekend evenings.

The new executive chef of Q39 is British so expect the food standards to go downhill MASSIVELY. Disgusting food and even worse people!

I bet he cooks up some fucking top quality baked beans though. That's just about all those limey pricks are good for food wise.

That actually is kind of disappointing

I think Bristol is pretty damn outstanding.

Have never had a single thing there that wasn't fantastic and they really do cover all the bases. Seafood, beef, pork, chicken - they don't miss.

Seconding this. The service is damn near world-class, too.

Just saw Jax Fish House on the Plaza is closed forever which makes me sad.

Slaps sauce is disgusting. Like it almost seems like they are trying to make a bad sauce. And agreed the brisket is super meh. I never understand why so many people love this place. I think they pay off online reviewers.

Here's a few more favorites.

Le Fou Frog (the chocolate mousse is to die for)

Aahaa South Indian Cuisine (one of the most amazing weekend buffets you'll experience)

Bamboo Penny's - really good Thai and a lot of hot girls

And last but not least, for more American fare, Rye. Get the fried chicken and pie.

Good point. Elegant without being stuffy; waiters are attentive without being overbearing.

They just do things very well there.

I've been told I should go to Stroud's for some pan fried chicken when I visit KC. Is it good and worth the trip?
