Best thing the Jets could do is pawn him off to a desperate team that might still be in love with the 'tools' as soon as humanly possible, because this kid is not 'IT'.

Rosen was drafted by a Cardinals organization that hadn't done much and then was traded the next year after a coaching/GM change.
Zach Wilson came to a team that was drafting 2nd overall for a reason as they hadn't done much for a decade and certainly didn't help their previous 3rd overall QB much who was drafted a few years before.
Mahomes on the other hand came to an organization that had been to the playoffs consecutive years, has a hall of fame coach, and he got to sit behind a very decent seasoned vet for a year. The Chiefs traded up in the draft to get him as they were a good team. Many Chiefs fans tend to ignore this and just think Mahomes was great the day he was drafted. Not to knock him it's just that he came to a perfect situation and to his credit he rocked it. Would he have done the same being drafted by the Cardinals or Jets in their situations? [Reply]

You could put Mahomes in even an Adam Gase offense where WRs don't break open and he would see that then just buy time until someone did. [Reply]

For real. I was thinking about this the other day and I kept coming back around to to this “boy I sure bet you they’re glad they didn’t trade him now!” And I that’s gonna weigh on them heavily when they have to make a decision on him this year.
