I'm in my late 30's. When I was younger, I always fawned upon seeing women in their early 20's dating men that age. Now that I'm in that age group, I still want to date women in their early 20's. :-) Hypocrite? Maybe. Can't help it though. Just like starting a sports franchise. I want my star player to be 25. Not 35.

Conversely, I don't know many women in their late 30's who are interested in men in their early 20's. They're not old enough to be cougars. They find men that age immature.

Honestly, I think dating has less to do with age and more to do with things in common. It was rather difficult being a single woman in her thirties with no kids trying to find a guy the similar age as me that wasn't already a dad. It wasn't a deal breaker or anything, but it was almost a relief whenever I found my boyfriend. I always thought I'd be fine stepping into the role of stepmom, but, looking back, I'm glad I didn't have to.

Once both parties cross over into their 30's, age is pretty irrelevant, imo. Obviously, if you are several decades younger or older than your mate, then health issues become apparent, but otherwise....find a companion that you enjoy being with and live your best life!

I wouldn’t discuss philosophy with you either. So the same basic conversations you have with your wife. It’s really not as bad as you think, she’s an intelligent girl. That said my current is 24 and is definitely a long term possibility.

Does age gap really matter?

I don’t think it does at least according to my opinion.

I think the most important thing is having a connection. If there are connections on many different levels/ways; I could be over 50 and she could 20, 25 and I’m sure we would be glad to acknowledge and accept each other.
