I do get the guys with the half plus 7 rule... but I really think it comes down to personal comfort level and ability to relate to one another intellectually and emotionally.
Even if you're 40, 27 can seem distant in terms of overall ability to connect and view things similarly. 50 and 32? There's an entire generational gap there practically, so the chances of the two of you being able to reconcile your differences on just about everything is going to be near nonexistent.
I'd say if you're less than 30, +/- 3 years. If you're between 30 and 40, +/- 5 years. If you're over 40, +/- 7 years. And really, if you're 70+, do whatever the fuck you want because you don't have that much time left. :-) [Reply]
