Kansas City is trading its first-round pick Thursday night, along with three other picks in the 2021 and 2022 drafts, to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown and one pick in the 2021 draft and another in 2022, per sources.

Well, yeah.
But to be fair, Brown looked more like a bad fit physically for this style of offense and less like an offensive lineman that just needed some time to gel for a while there.
It appears to me he's dropped some weight; he looks a little less round than earlier in the season, but that's just my perception. He looks quicker out of his set.
He'll probably always struggle a little with speed, but boy, if you don't get him right off the snap, you're not going to.
But earlier criticism was warranted.
Things change, and if you can't admit when your narrative is no longer accurate, you're just dumb.
My accessment of Brown has become inaccurate. He's fine. Still not perhaps the ideal fit, but a good player. [Reply]
The guy was really good again today. The only time I saw a pass rusher get Mahomes today was when he fumbled and Joe Thuney caught it, but Brown He’s guy literally ran to the right side and Patrick held the ball for like 7 seconds.
I’m fine paying him. He struggled early during the transition [Reply]

I’d like to see if shedding a few pounds couldn’t help his kick step to help him keep up with elite rushers. I mean he’s heavier than most tackles. [Reply]
I guess I'm going to die on the hill. The dude still isn't a very good pass blocker and sure as hell didn't deserve a Pro Bowl nod. He's a hell of a run blocker but this is a pass-first team. Brown being "better" is much more to do with Patrick learning to live better with Brown's shortcomings. Brown still concedes fairly immediate pressure up the arc on a relatively consistent basis. He simply needs to lose weight and get quicker.
If I were to concede anything, at least I feel like the arrow is pointing up unlike earlier in the season when he was atrocious. That said, I just feel like for Patrick to be at his very best every week, he needs to have more faith in his LT and that requires that LT be an excellent pass blocker on an island. Brown isn't anything near being that guy but he could certainly help the cause by losing 20 pounds.
Even if the Chiefs wanted to make a change, they have other big fish to fry in the 2022 offseason. The Chiefs have little choice but to tag or re-sign him next year. I'm not sure handing him a massive contract is the right answer but they may very well do that and I'll understand it. [Reply]

I'm not a fan of the thought, but it would be cheaper to tag HB, though. Maybe opens the cap up in some way they feel they can get them all back? We'll see. [Reply]
