We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

Suicides prevention calls, domestic violence calls up significantly, and child welfare and abuse cases down substantially(not good as they aren't being observed by others). This is just the toll on Americans. The depression continued isolation would bring to America and to the World would be devestating to 100's of millions around the world, particularly those in developing nations.
Theres still going to be millions unemployed the economy isnt going to bounce back until the virus has been controlled.

Some people feel they need a gun for home protection even though the odds of dying in a home invasion are probably lower than dying from covid, we all see things differently doesn't mean it is wrong.

Hey if anyone gets cancer, that's a real drain on the medical system and insurance rates we should take them out back and shoot them so life can go on better for everyone else, survival of the fittest right?

We'd all be better off if we just implemented policies based on eugenics, really.

Hey why not right? If your child is born with a disability instead of having tax payers help you take care of them, just drown them in the tub, better for our system.

Best post of this thread, yet each “side” continues to attack each other.

Anyone want to tackle this? CDC changed the number of Covid deaths to 37K?

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

Edit: Weird so is that the total without pneumonia? Very confusing.

Ah.

Our counts often track 1–2 weeks behind other data for a number of reasons: Death certificates take time to be completed. There are many steps involved in completing and submitting a death certificate. Waiting for test results can create additional delays. States report at different rates. Currently, 63% of all U.S. deaths are reported within 10 days of the date of death, but there is significant variation among jurisdictions. It takes extra time to code COVID-19 deaths. While 80% of deaths are electronically processed and coded by NCHS within minutes, most deaths from COVID-19 must be coded manually, which takes an average of 7 days. Other reporting systems use different definitions or methods for counting deaths.
