Nzoner's Game Room>Derwin James injured
ShowtimeSBMVP 12:02 PM 08-16-2019

The #Chargers suffered a tough loss yesterday in practice. Sources say star safety Derwin James will be out a significant amount of time, but how much is still undetermined, as of now. He injured his foot yesterday and was spotted in a boot today.

Like having to scramble to fill Berry's position with Ron Parker? That was worse than James...EB was making crippling cash.

This is juju for the Steelers/Chargers Sunday night officiating rig job... and the Chiefs last play. Had to make both LA teams a winner...

This is my concern as well, Mr. keg in kc.

We must not vibrate out negs into the aether. Not now. Not ever.

There is no benefit and a potentially horrific downside.

When will people learn that the universal superconsciousness of the Great Spirit has no sense of humor?

"Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is likely going to miss the rest of the preseason after suffering an injury during practice this week."

I stopped believing in any kind of karma after the 2013 playoff loss to the Colts. It wasn't enough for the other embarrassing playoff losses to do me in, but the circumstances of that one were too much.

Fuck superstition. Fuck "karma." Fuck "juju" and all that other bullshit. Yeah, I'll still buy into tradition, like the correct number of asterisks in the titles of game threads, but not because it's going to help us win, or anything like that.

Chiefs fans could all be Adolf Hitler clones and it wouldn't matter. If you still believe in crap like, "Don't make fun of injuries or your team will get them too!" then I'm going to DOUBLY make fun of other team injuries to make up for the ones you don't mock.

The Chiefs will have injuries. The actions of the fans regarding injuries on other teams has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

For the Chargers sake, I sure hope he can keep his spirit up

"The Chargers have managed to stay relatively throughout the course of the past few weeks, but there still have been some key players dinged up.

Among the notables are free safety Nasir Adderley, cornerback Trevor Williams and wide receiver Keenan Allen.

Adderley has been out for the majority of training camp with a hamstring issue. Coach Anthony Lynn said last week that he had been dealing with some soreness, but the duration of the rookie's absence has drawn some concerns.

Per The Athletic's Daniel Popper, coach Anthony Lynn does not want to put a timetable on Adderley. "You have to be patient with those soft-tissue injuries. But I would like to see him out here because training camp is very valuable," Lynn said.

Lynn was asked if he will play in the preseason and he responded by saying, "If he's ready."

Williams, who landed on the injured reserve in 2018 due to a knee injury, hasn't practiced since before the preseason opener. It was uncertain whether or not it was injury related, and Lynn confirmed that it is.

Lynn said Williams' injury -- which he originally called minor -- has carried on longer than he expected it would. No timetable has been set on Williams' return.

Williams entered training camp in contention for the No. 2 cornerback spot with Michael Davis, but his absence only benefits Davis.

Allen is likely going to miss the rest of the preseason after suffering an injury during practice this week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. He injured his ankle, and although it doesn't appear to be serious, Allen is going to have to have to wait until Sept. 8 to make his 2019 debut.

#Chargers S Derwin James will undergo surgery on his foot following evaluations of the stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal, sources say. He’s expected to be sidelined around three months. The surgery will be performed by noted foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson

Damn this sucks.

I know the Chargers are in our division and this should come as good news but really I just think that I hope he heals up and returns to the football as normal.

Now will that not be until next year or 3 months who knows but my best to him.

I had Adderley over Thornhill in my evaluation but looks like I was wrong.
