Nzoner's Game Room>Mahomes is 15 TDs away from passing Aikman
petegz28 07:47 AM 07-02-2022

Crazy Stat: Patrick Mahomes could throw 15 touchdowns the rest of his career and still finish with more career touchdown passes than Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman.

Note: Mahomes has played in 102 less games. pic.twitter.com/YzE4B34Xh2

You don't go #1 overall with a weak arm. That shit doesn't happen.

Even after injury, he had the arm to make all the throws. I wouldn't say he had a plus arm when he was in KC, but his issue was always between the ears. He was afraid to cut it loose.
he never had an arm like aikman

never

Troy threw it down the field. I doubt you even watched him.
When he did, he didn't complete many compared to his peers since his highest yds/completion rank was 10th.

He did have a fairly good completion % overall, so that means he piled up solid accuracy stats on short to middle distance throws.

false, YPA was high

FFS Alvin Harper averaged 25 YARDS PER CATCH one year.

YPA means squat. YPC is what's important.

He finished 10th in yds/completion ONCE.
Spin it all you like, that number doesn't lie. You can't pretend he was completing long passes when the numbers literally say he wasn't.

And Harper averaged that on 33 catches...on 79 targets:-)

They are not equally important. You are essentially saying that a QB who missed on one 50 yard pass performed as well as a QB who completed five 10 yard passes.

Aikman was only good in the playoffs when he was surrounded by all-time talent. In his last four playoff games his QB ratings were 67.9, 37.4, 37.0, and 70.7.

You get a 39.6 passer rating if you throw every single pass incomplete, as long as you don't throw an interception. In two out of four times his last four years, Aikman was worse than if he had never completed a pass to a player of either color jersey.

Alvin Harper says "hi". Same with Moose, Novacek and Smith was a decent receiver from the backfield.

Aikman's best year was 1992... good thing for him is that Smith was the straw that stirred that drink offensively.

I've asked many Cowboys' fans to describe the biggest games "he" won... not many great examples were ever found.

Free Agency as we know it now started in 93/94. Aikman's last SB with Switzer was 95 and he did absolutely nothing after that point when teams could no longer hoard talent.
