I mean, those 2 movies weren't his best work, but they're still better than 99% of the shit that Hollywood puts out. I thoroughly enjoyed both.
Dunkirk was fantastic.
But you HAD to see it in a theater with the screen/sound to do it justice. I loved that movie and never understood how anyone possibly couldn't.
Then I watched it at home once and, while I enjoyed it, understood how someone might not. It loses so much when placed on a smaller screen.
Tenant, OTOH, was disappointing as hell. I was fired up to see that movie and didn't even make it to the end. It was Nolan sniffing his own farts in a big way.

I think he's being a liiiiiitle dogmatic there.
For instance, the IMAX Laser Projection is going to give you an experience that's virtually indistinguishable for anyone who isn't a film junky.
Don't get me wrong, 70mm is gonna be better. Honestly I'm not sure it's POSSIBLE to be better than 70mm. I mean it's effectively a recreation in terms of resolution.
But if the best you can do within an hour radius is a good IMAX laser system, you're doing pretty damn well.
I'm not sure I'd be willing to make the trip all the way to Branson to see it, but I feel like that's about as good as it gets around here. [Reply]
Numerous early reviews are coming in tonight and they are looking incredible.
#OPPENHEIMER may be Nolan's masterpiece. A chilling, galvanizing spectacle anchored by astounding performances. Cillian Murphy transforms into the destroyer of worlds while Matt Damon's Dick Shitless brings charming levity. This is a *movie* movie and a definite Oscar contender
#ChristopherNolan's #Oppenheimer is incredible. Every aspect of the film is worth talking about from the brilliant performances, to #HoytevanHoytema's amazing work behind the camera, to the way Nolan tells the story. The 3 hour run time flies by. See it in @IMAX 70mm if you can. pic.twitter.com/8mPVJGALKu
