Okay, you don't want a LTC deal? Cool - I don't want to guarantee your $10 million then.
We meet in the middle, guarantee only a small fraction of it, get that same year 1 cap relief by plowing the remainder into NLTBE incentives and we move along.
This is a DAMN sight more palatable than $10+ million on a make-good deal.
And it's also why I'm not sure why everyone was so certain it was an amazing deal when it was announced. Most of y'all would get absolutely barbecued at a negotiating table, wouldn't you? It wasn't an amazing deal at $10 million guaranteed and hopefully the demonstration of what a fair deal in this scenario actually is helps some recognize that fact.

Yep huge win win. And who knows... if he likes it here and it works out might even get to keep him for the right price. [Reply]

2019 was his first year as a WR1. That proved that he isn't one.
2020 wasn't horrible but it wasn't top 10 WRs or anything. I'd take 97 receptions for 831 yards and 9 TDs here as a WR2. [Reply]
We are discussing the individual's athletic ability, right?
Athletic ability isn't determined by stats and years played.
I'm speaking only to physical attributes.
What exactly does Clay think Pringle is?
Guys - that dude is FAST. And he's very quick.
He just had no earthly idea what he was doing out there because he came out of a lousy offensive system. Then by the time he figured it out, he'd aged out of his prime. Shit happens.
But Pringle has exceptional physical tools. Do y'all not remember the training camp races when he was toasting everyone? My recollection was that he was stride for stride with Hardman, no?
Byron is a fantastic athlete.
SS is a technician.
I really don't understand what's difficult about this or even moderately controversial. [Reply]

The $3M base, incentive laden thing changes things quite a bit.
Now all of a sudden we're talking about a very low risk acquisition. Very little actual investment.
Really makes me think they get a shiny new rookie WR.
