My mom passed away today. She had a long fight, with a lot of pain. I hope she finds peace in the hereafter, without more pain. A bunch of us went up to see her at the hospice care center today for Thanksgiving; Dad, sister, aunt, cousins. A few hours later, she just slipped away.
God bless you, JakeF. I know it hurts but on this day maybe be thankful you saw her when you did. And as the years come try and focus on all the good thanksgivings you had with her in years past. Celebrate her life. [Reply]

That was my first thought. Of all the fucking days to pass. But at least everybody got to see her one last time and wouldn't have otherwise. Doesn't make it suck any less, though.
