And thats a reasonable personal approach. When this push to get a covid vaccine started all the scientists were hoping for a 70% effective vaccine.

The mRNA vaccines are something new. The data looks great but again, its new so we have no proof of its long term effects.

And I'll be honest, I don't fully trust clinical trial data. There's a lot of money at stake and companies cut corners all the time to streamline the process.

I'd rather see the results, particularly side effects, "in the wild" for a bit first, at least.

you are flailing here.

but I think the worry there is them getting it and passing it on to some old or someone with a crap immune system that didn't (or couldn't) get vaccinated themselves)

So our company will be vaccinating our employees starting the 16th with the Pfizer vaccine.

I am not sure I want this one and rather have the Moderna one.

He had disease.

You’re out of your element here man. Just move on.

Disease isn’t always a long term situation.

Pfizer put up $2 billion of their own money to develop this vaccine. Private companies cutting corners after that kind of money spent has happened before. Its reasonable to be skeptical.

Yep. And don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing. I'm not suggesting Pfizer has done anything wrong.

It's just that we have precedent for this kind of thing - a $2 billion dollar investment is chump change compared to the tens or even hundreds of billions they could possibly make.

They're a for-profit company so I think a bit of skepticism is inherent.

Hasn't Pfizer been working on this vaccine the longest , wouldn't cutting corners and making a mistake hurt the company?
