Media Center>-- Odd/Mysterious sites on the web - watch at your own risk.
Simply Red 10:36 AM 08-21-2016
Okay - I'm not really big on hype - but I watched this in its entirety and it gave me nightmares for two nights. Not a big deal, yet it really is strange.

Any of you run into any odd sites? I don't mean the deep web - I just mean random odd sites that you may've heard of or run into.

Watch this at your own risk - it really is somewhat disturbing - but it also TOO is very interesting!

Its ostensibly a website for a store selling wedding dresses, but the design of the site itself is pretty creepy, and if you follow any of the various links you can find some pretty disturbing stuff. Its gotten quite a bit of attention because no one can figure out if its a joke or if its really just a site made by an insane person.

I've been interested in Yvette's. I've clicked through a bit, and it seems like an old Myspace page with the pics and links set up the way they are. The setup itself has this "off" feeling about it. So far I've found lots of strange pics of some dude, plenty of weird pics of people trying dresses on, and a recipe for a pie. The one pic that kind of gave me the chills is a painting of a mother and a son. The mom looks like an obvious painted face, but the kid looks almost hyper real and has that illusion of looking right at you. That pic was out of place with the rest on that page and really stood out. Strange.

no but it seems fairly slow - I DO like the ruins etc, the pics seem to have an urban exploration theme and odd (dark ambient) music. I will go there eventually - Fairly sure it's safe to visit.

"This website offers a whole host of studies, papers and scientific reasons that argue that we might be living in some sort of computer simulation a la The Matrix. Just reading this stuff makes you lose touch with reality. "

www.timecube.com

"This website contains some kind of confused long text elaborating on how a single day is made up of 4 days and that children should kill adults who don't believe this basic truth. It is based on Gene Ray's personal model of reality and is pretty strange, to say the least."

"The site claims the Earth will be destroyed by catastrophes and only loving and believing people who have their 4th heart chakra opened will be able to transvibrate to a higher dimension. Basically it's got a bunch of crazy stuff on there."

drugs is a fascinating thing lol *and i partake in them at this point of life*.. but sadly.. all of this is just avoiding the real reality.. less exciting, perhaps.. certainly more frightening.

Truly a haunting place. It was people stacked on top of each other like a cross between Manhattan and the favelas of Rio, only on a tiny island, working for the coal mine, until it had a failure or was mined out [I forget which] and everyone just abandoned it.

There's a documentary [I want to say VICE] where the son of one of the workers there revisists the ruins.
