The Chiefs releases of Eric Fisher and Geoff Schwartz are not all that surprising. Schwartz's future has been unsure since injuring his back, while Fisher's Achilles tear puts 2021 in serious jeopardy.
KC loves Lucas Niang, which it had a second-round grade on last year.

Agreed. I found it bizarre when Veach said Fisher might be back by training camp last week. The guy tore his fucking Achilles, he'd be lucky if he plays at all in 2021. And I'm guessing they realized they shouldn't rely on Schwartz whatsoever after what happened to him in 2020.
It's a tough decision because of how good those two were, but it's really the only decision to be made here. Can't be paying them that much to do nothing when you've got Patrick Mahomes and this core in place. [Reply]
