Nzoner's Game Room>Mahomes is 15 TDs away from passing Aikman
petegz28 07:47 AM 07-02-2022

Crazy Stat: Patrick Mahomes could throw 15 touchdowns the rest of his career and still finish with more career touchdown passes than Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman.

Note: Mahomes has played in 102 less games. pic.twitter.com/YzE4B34Xh2

Why I said earlier, Trent Green was a poor man's Troy Aikman.

Aikman however had a stronger arm and a much, much better deep ball. Troy's deep ball was a thing of beauty. Similar to Russell Wilson's.

That was the one hole in Trent's game.

Aikman would have won multiple Super Bowls with Alex's teams in SF and KC.
Smith's arm was comparable to Aikman's when he had a chance to use it. Aikman's "poise in the pocket" was more a matter of him being a statue. He might as well stand in the pocket, because he sure as hell wasn't running anywhere.

“Poise in the pocket” lol. In 1993, Aikman took as many sacks behind an all-time great OL as Mahomes did behind five slices of Swiss cheese in 2018.

He had 1 season in the top 10 for yds/completion.
1998--he was 10th:-)

you drunk?

Aikman YPA rankings:

1991 4th
1992 8th
1993 2nd
1994 2nd
1995 4th

The fact he did this with Michael Irvin and little else at receiver is a testament to his insane talent.

I hope Time's Ours dedicates a whole ass episode to Mahomes surpassing him since it was their podcast that got Aikman's panties all in a twisted bunch in his ass

Alex Smith's arm was really good prior to injury.

You don't go #1 overall with a weak arm. That shit doesn't happen.

Even after injury, he had the arm to make all the throws. I wouldn't say he had a plus arm when he was in KC, but his issue was always between the ears. He was afraid to cut it loose.

No, but you must be since I clearly wrote "yds/completion."
Highest was 10th. Once.

YPA matters, too.

Troy threw it down the field. I doubt you even watched him.
