I feel like the list gets weaker every year. Maybe it's just because I no longer look starry-eyed at football players. I still don't understand who Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis made angry, because they deserve to be on this list over nearly every player on it.
Whatever. The next cut goes from these 26 to 15. So vote for the 15 that you'll begrudgingly allow even though they're not Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis.
Poll coming slowly, like that big dude who knocks on the players' hotel doors when they get in. [Reply]
So are we a bunch of jaded curmudgeons or is that legitimately a very weak class? I think I may have become a bit more cynical over the years, or maybe more discerning.
I don't want to be one of those guys that says, "Back in the day players were so much better...", but I'm just so unimpressed by this list and keep thinking of past guys who aren't in. Setting Chiefs aside, I could name a dozen or more better candidates off the top of my head. Everson Walls, Joe Jacoby, James Brooks, Roger Craig, William Andrews, Robert Brazile, and so on. [Reply]
As someone mentioned earlier, the Hall has become a hall of pretty good/who played on a media pimped team. My criteria has always been did he dominate for more than a couple years? I also have a bias against WRs because those stats are often the result of having a great QB. Jerry Rice = HoF, Torrey Holt = not as good.
D Allen, Boselli, Ware, and Woodson are the only ones to get my vote. Until OT gets in, the Hall is a sham. [Reply]

Is there anyone in the world who would not pick Jamaal Charles over Eddie George in a mock draft?
I agree. I was very unimpressed when Curtis Martin was selected. I’d take Fred Taylor over Eddie George or Curtis Martin any day of the week. But Taylor doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. [Reply]

Curtis Martin was great, absolutely deserving. 10 straight 1,000 yard seasons is pretty worthy. Of course his best season he had the GOAT full back lead blocking for him, Tony Rich. [Reply]
I'm just now noticing that the AFC West got completely shut out. There's not a single player on this list who spent a majority of his career in the AFC West.
The only exception is that the senior committee has put forth Cliff Branch as their senior candidate, who was a Raider and not as good as Otis Taylor. [Reply]

If longevity and consistency is worthy of the HOF, then he certainly is. But I’ve never been wowed watching Curtis Martin run. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a workhorse back as much as anyone. Ed Podolak was my first favorite player. His Xmas day 1971 performance inspired my love of football and the chiefs. [Reply]
