After he was exposed in the Super Bowl, I'm not sure what kind of market he was expecting to find. He's the kind of guy who realistically could have a penalty called against him on almost every play with how handsy he is. He's going to have a tough time finding anything more than short term, low cost deals.
I don't think he's necessarily mad at the Chiefs, but at the system as a whole. It's like he feels disrespected because he's not getting the offers he thinks he should be getting. [Reply]

Between his MRSA, 4 game suspension, and the 2021 falling cap, he’s had some bad luck. [Reply]

I suppose I can see that. If a guy like Steven Nelson can get 25 million over 3 years, you'd think Breeland could land something.
Oh well, hope it ends up benefiting us again. [Reply]

His 3/24 deal with the Panthers was voided, allegedly due to MRSA. [Reply]

Even so, you'd think being a starting CB for a Super Bowl team two years in a row could land you a decent deal somewhere. I'm sure that's what he's thinking as well.
Kind of rough for guys like him these days. [Reply]

Interception in the Super Bowl
100 yard fumble recovery against the Lions
Beautiful game-saving pass breakup against the patriots
The guy's a top-notch cornerback. I want him back in red.
Me too, Rain Man. Me too.
I bet he has an offer from the Chiefs and is trying to drive his price up. [Reply]

That's kind of where I am.
Seems like the good has always outweighed the bad.
Besides, if he's not back there won't be anyone to mistakenly call "Breeland Speaks". [Reply]

He's had some horrible luck. His big deal with the Panthers was voided because of his MSRA infection. Then he missed half that year and ended up in Green Bay where he played very well. Then he got his first one year deal with us.
Last year he had the looming suspension which hurt him, so he took another cheap one year deal thinking he would get paid this year. With the cap going down and all the negative publicity he got from his Super Bowl performance, his market was not there.
I completely agree, he's a very good player and I really hope they keep him. [Reply]
