Nzoner's Game Room>2022 Hall of Fame Semifinalists
Rain Man 01:29 PM 11-29-2021
I feel like the list gets weaker every year. Maybe it's just because I no longer look starry-eyed at football players. I still don't understand who Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis made angry, because they deserve to be on this list over nearly every player on it.

Whatever. The next cut goes from these 26 to 15. So vote for the 15 that you'll begrudgingly allow even though they're not Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis.

Poll coming slowly, like that big dude who knocks on the players' hotel doors when they get in.

Not bad.

All seven of the players I initially voted for made the top 15:

Allen, Barber, Hester, Seymour, Bryant, Butler, and Anderson.

If only my game-day picks were so lucky.

*sigh*

The Hall is losing a lot of integrity with some of the unworthy entries, along with the notable snubs. I guess all of these "Hall of Fame" type of things become political and just lose their sense of meaning over time. Oh well.:-)

I wouldn’t put Hester in.

He was the best returner ever, but that’s probably only because better receivers and running backs aren’t used as returners. They’re more valuable at other positions, so they aren’t used as returners. The coaches wont risk the injuries.

Guys like Hester and Hall were dynamic returners but very replaceable players at their actual positions.

Guys like Tyreek Hill, Steve Smith, Barry Sanders, etc could’ve been some of the greatest returners ever. They were too valuable to risk the injury returning punts/kicks.

Go Seymour just so the Raiders can claim another HOF. Can't wait for the Witten claim!

In all seriousness, Hester has no business making it. The classes are getting weaker and weaker each year. But that is the nature of hall of fames. No HOF passes up on the moolah that induction weekend brings in.
