Nzoner's Game Room>What strains of weed are you currently smoking?
Coochie liquor 06:14 PM 11-07-2014
Since we have a what are you drinking thread, I think we need a what strain are you smoking thread. Hope it's not a Q.

I'll start. I've got 2 kinds currently 1) Cherry Berry, which is a cross between Berry White and Cherry Kush 2) some fire ass Blue Dream. Hard to pick which I like better but leaning towards Cherry Berry. All the Berry White strains I've had are funk!!

I am guessing you mean 0 Celcius. If it were 0 Farenheit I would say it's over. A plant can survive a few hours in the cold, but repeated dips of dips below 50 degrees Farenheit are going to cause problems. At 50 degrees the plant is going to stop producing flowers, root growth drastically reduces and the plant goes what you can call survival mode. Hermaphrodite nanners can show by continued stress from the cold. Have you checked soil temps?

Do not rinse flowers with water at such a late stage. You would only be inviting bud rott. If it has frost on it, give it a shake or 2 to see it falls off. It it doesn't and a continued cold is expected. Chop, chop. You could cover the plant with plastic during cold dips to help it survive the cold.
yeah, celcius :-)

am aware of bud rot and risk of mold as well. the only time the buds get wet is from the rain. had a stretch of precip the last week, but since its been dry. only watered, when i did, at the base of the plant.

haven't checked soil temps as there would be nothing that could be done at this point, but when i had a green house years ago, i did have that ability. (that greenhouse grow was the worst as all it did was rain, and the humidity wrecked about three plants with mold.)

all said, this lot look really good this year. am really stoked about not spending money on shit weed. :-)

Spoiler!

curious as to what methods you use to dry and cure the plant after being trimmed and taken off the stem?

Dark room with constant attention to temp and humidity levels. Temps should be no higher the 70, no lower than 60. Humidity levels I like to keep right around 50%. A fan to keep air movement in the room, but never directly on the flowers. If you have to add a humidifier, or dehumidifier to keep humidity levels in check. Do it. Much more important than temps IMO.

Off the stem when stem just about to snap which usually takes anywhere from 5-7days from hanging. After the flowers are off the stem they placed in jars, or clean food grade 5 gal. buckets with opening the containers several times a day the first week for a few minutes each time. I will give a light shake to the container to move the flowers around and once a day I will dump all the flowers out and placed back in the jar to just rotate them fully. The 2nd week I will only open the containers for a few minutes each as needed. 3rd week when placed in a container for the long cure I normally will place a Boveda 62 pack just to keep it check.

I'd like to see you with this type of trichrome production next year.

this will be my first year trying to dry/cure three full on females, plus my small 10 year old bonzai's. biggest yield for me ever.

your suggestions regarding drying i am familiar with. the only problem i will have is i will have to empty out my bottom shed to allow the variables necessary for drying. but i can make it work.

if i could get the crystalization you presented in those photo's i would be over the moon.

i will admit, i let the garden overgrown and didn't pay much attention to the weeds and such. i just let things go as they may.

next year i have a huge advantage. not only the greenhouse panels but will be covering the top of the garden with some substrate, will be tilling the soil (adding fertilized mulch from the newly acquired chickens and their enriched soil), and occasional nutrients added. i don't plan to monitor soil temps and ph so to speak, but will be 'aware' of problems. these plants have been care free entirely.

as well i do plan to 'top' the plants next year, per your suggestion.

again, i have to stress, unless i can turn bush weed into kind bud, my seed genetics may hinder me from huge potency.

:-)

yes for sure.

this was just to get it away from the rain we are currently getting. the drops missed the plant by about fifteen minutes.

the healthiest bud of the bunch is two times my bicep. it's glorious :-) :-)

ETA: due to the success of this years yield, i actually am not prepared in regards to storage after its dried in the shed, to cure. :scratcheshead: :-)

Only on day 9 of flower.

Started using the spare bathroom as a veg room in order to double up the harvests per year. I'm extremely happy with these lights (Dual T5 6400K Bulbs).

Ok question for those who are in the know.

I’ve never had an edible and my wife hasn’t either. My wife hired a new employee and the kid was gracious enough to give her 2 cookies for us both. Tomorrow night we’re smoking a shit load with friends. But I’m used to that. This edible stuff what should I expect?

Do you know how loaded those cookies are? Home made or store bought?

Make sure you have a decent amount of food in your tummy. High fats (burger/fries/milshake) are great meals to go along with edibles because the THC is fat soluble. Better all around experience.

Be ready to be high for about 3 - 4 hours. Typically more of a body experience vs a head high (even if sativa based because of science reasons). It will take about 90 minutes for you to start feeling anything. Don't overindulge... it isn't like alcohol where you can purge and feel better.

Wade in slowly as they take a while to hit. Most edible noobs end up getting way ****ed because they don't think they are getting high to they eat some more. Then bam, it's now an ordeal.

They’re home made cookies. So just make sure to not overdo it, ok.

Should I eat like half the cookie though? There's 2 full cookies. Idk if normally an entire cookie would be too much.
