Whether they are young people testing positive in the US or not, we're the only country that seems to be dealing with a second peak in the first wave. In other places the tide seems to have gone out.

Yep...

We're paying it back with interest now. This whole thing could be over, at least for now

What will the excuse be when all these countries receiving praise start seeing an up-tick in cases?

It's just funny how some are convinced this could all be over by now. Just poof...gone.

I also read an article today that states are starting to admit that the protests helped spread this.

The man behind Sweden’s controversial Covid-19 strategy has characterized lockdowns imposed across much of the globe as a form of “madness” that flies in the face of what is known about handling viral outbreaks.

Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s state epidemiologist, said he advised against such restrictions on movement because of the detrimental side effects they often entail.

Wrong. Honestly, I don't trust the US media on Sweden anymore than I trust RT to report on Putin.

Those people should make the necessary accommodations to not be in public.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think they will?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the UK sees something akin to what we are, however.

Or you should just stay out of public and then you won't have to worry. How's that?

I highly doubt we will see that happen in the East Asian countries because they are way more disciplined than we are. Europe though, it will probably happen considering the photos/videos posted this weekend that I saw of packed bars and restaurants.

That would make more sense. If you are scared, stay home. The rest of us will keep the society rolling.

And if you are truly someone that is high-risk I do believe we as a society should protect them.

Given that more than 99.99% of the population don’t have a medical condition that would prevent them from wearing a mask for a short time, it would seem to make sense that the onus would be on them.

Given that 99% of the country don't have Covid it would seem that we should just not worry about it at all.

See how that works?

Scared so stay home? Not everyone has that choice depending on your line of work.

And can we stop with the pre existing and high risk bullshit. Half of those hospitalized in AZ are 20-44 years old and many without pre existing conditions. That drum died in May so stop beating it.

In my county of 1.1 million in the SF Bay Area, we have had 85 Covid deaths. 69 of which were patients in long term assisted living or con homes.

I mean, if you’re into non-sequitar, then great. Otherwise, your analogy does not apply at all.
