Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun!
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.
Fucking amazing battle. The hammer scene was awesome. The probe's homage to Aliens was perfect.
The purple dude from Rebels better be back, and also that was Indy's leather jacket. :-)

I'm gonna guess this ends with the idiots at the New Republic about to devastate the Mandalorians before a Luke-cum-Baby Yoda plot device steps in. FUN!!!
the captain having to turn his massive spacegoing vessel with a goddamn WHEEL is classic star wars cheese...as is the corsair CONVENIENTLY crashing in a fiery explosion that didn't destroy the city at all, when it was right over it :-)
The N-1 is also majorly fucking OP - where were these ships during the Rebellion? they would have won every battle :-)
Great action scenes tonight. This season seems to be getting all the factions, players and motives in place before the upcoming war that results in what we saw take place in the movies. [Reply]
Maybe its me but I found last episode to be bad. Not a fan of Carl Weathers as his acting sucks in my opinion. And why in the hell doesn't Greef have any defenses ready? Especially in the Outer Rim? Meanwhile the civilian population (all 20 of them) escape to the desert high ground with Greef is laughable. They could have at least hired a couple more hundred extras or used CGI to fill those scenes.
I get it, the Pirates (worse actors then the Pirates of the Caribbean) are a tool for a bigger threat, but this was all to cheesy for me. They were doing well with this show and now it seems its fallen to shit level.
My verdict:
I am in it now and will finish, but I am not nearly as excited. I understand that this episode sets the stage for some interesting story arc. I just didn't care for the production

I fell out of it after the first episode this season. It's not that it was bad, but after everything the show had built to in the previous seasons, going back to Star Wars: Fetch Quest really sapped my enthusiasm for it. [Reply]
