We got ref balled in the last 10 or so minutes of gametime but that's to be expected in that building. The real issue was giving away that 11 point lead to even let it get to that point, though I'm not sure what Self was gonna do about those guys being completely gassed.
This was a pretty brutal schedule game for a team with no depth whatsoever. [Reply]

It begs the question, why hasn't KU had a bench for a few years now? The last few seasons its been pretty common that we have a good starting 5 and just nothing backing it up. [Reply]

This year it probably has something to do with using all of our NIL money on Hunter Dickinson (and obviously Timberlake being one of the biggest busts in program history).
But, in general, I bet it is pretty hard to convince these transfer portal kids to come to KU when they know they have no real shot at a starting spot (and we've had some pretty strong starting lineups the past 2 seasons). [Reply]

Probably. It just doesn't seem like KU basketball anymore not having a guy that can come off the bench if someone is having a bad game or just to give someone rest. [Reply]

Well, it isn't. Not like it was anyway. The new transfer/NIL age means we generally won't be able keep the highly ranked freshman recruits for longer than a year (which is how you used to be able to build program depth). Levels the playing field. [Reply]
Reffing was shit. About as bad as our play. I expected a letdown game, but not quite that bad. Jesus.
Quintessential can beat anybody or lose to anybody.
Also, how is KSU this bad? They played as bad as we did save a couple big shots by Perry down the stretch.
Horrific basketball.
However, I was at my buddy's place and he had the Nova/Providence game and that game was orders of magnitude worse. Barf.
I honestly think we should have pressed them more than we did down the stretch (their turnover rate is one of the worst in the country) but that would have probably taken more effort than we actually had.
McCullar and Dickinson were running on fumes the entire 2nd half/OT. [Reply]
