Dante84 01:00 PM 04-23-2021
developing.

The #Ravens are trading LT Orlando Brown to the #Chiefs, per me and @MikeGarafolo. A new blindside protector for Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City is trading its first-round pick Thursday night, along with three other picks in the 2021 and 2022 drafts, to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown and one pick in the 2021 draft and another in 2022, per sources.

Full details: #Chiefs get:
Orland Brown, 2021 2nd and a 2022 6th rounder

Yeah, Williams signed a new deal upon being traded to the 49ers where they included language not to franchise him.

Brown, OTOH, is playing on his rookie contract and would've had zero leverage as a 3rd round pick to get that kind of language included.

Yes, we'll be able to franchise him. And yes, we'll have the financial wherewithal to do so. It's just a question of priority and as Duncan noted, I suspect Brown will be priority #1.

If the Chiefs want him back next season, they'll have him back next season. He could theoretically hold out rather than play on the tag, but I would be surprised if the son of an NFL player who's career was inexorably altered by an errant penalty flag in the blink of an eye would pass on a $17 million payday.

As far as Brown being an elite athlete? He has concrete feet
Define "top LT money." Are they going to pay him at the top of the LT market? I don't know about that. I don't think he has really earned it or has the leverage to command it. This isn't a Tunsil situation.

Brown had one really bad pass block loss against Parsons where he just raced around him. That's the only 'bad' loss I saw live or that really stood out when I watched the game a second time.

To act like it’s locked in stone that we will be able to tag him or re-sign him in the offseason isn’t as black and white as we may think…but I’d agree that it’s likely that re-signing him to a long term deal is a priority and it’s unlikely it doesn’t get done.
1. You know about Silverback's deal because stuff like that always gets leaked. If Brown had a clause like that, it would be out there.

2. Franchise tag has nothing to do with contract demands, unless he wants a cheap deal and we don't need to use it at all.

3. Doesn't matter at all. If they want to tag him, they will. The cap won't stop them.

Right now, that's all I'd do - tag him. He's not worth a long-term deal. At least not yet.

:-) :-)

Orlando Brown is on a rookie deal. How the hell would he have a contract like that?

He didn't trip.

He didn't lose his footing.

He was shoved to the ground by a much bigger and stronger man.

Let the big boys talk and go play somewhere.
You ain't a BIG BOY.....big DUMBASS maybe....

The rusher lost his footing and Brown pushed him. Prior, the rusher pushed Brown back 5 yards! Eat shit, mouth!

Orlando Brown was doing terrible things to people on Sunday. I wrote about it here. You should read it. And smile. https://t.co/AtYxzLH3yy pic.twitter.com/PSLxxCbPKZ

We need to see if Brown and play this well when our offense is rolling like before. Right now we are running the ball and using a dink/dunk passing game. That's fine, but hopefully Brown can play well when Mahomes throws the ball 10 straight times, holding the ball long enough for Hill to run a deep crossing route. Big difference.

Should that have been illegal hands to the face penalty?
