Just starting out on the guitar and I'm wanting to buy an electric. I don't have much money and would like to find one that would be cheap and good for a beginner. I've seen some Fender and Ibanez guitars that aren't expensive. Any suggestions? [Reply]
At least the guys in Creed actually play instruments. I don't think the music industry is underestimating the American public at all. If they were, these boy "bands" and singing supermodels wouldn't sell near as meany albums as they do. Granted, most of the purchases of these albums are probably parents trying to shut their kids up. [Reply]
Yeah, I do need to get an amp. Need to save some more cash. I'd appreciate suggestions on an amp if you guys have the time. I don't need anything real big or expensive, just something small to practice with. Thanks. [Reply]
Go ahead and play it unplugged untill you can buy a decent practice amp. I like the peavey Rage series with reverb, or the Laney Hardcore with reverb. These run around $100-$150. If you get one without reverb, you'll regret it later. The nice thing about the Laney is that even though it's just a 25 watter, you'll still get plenty of volume out of it, and can play with people. If you grab the crappy 10 watt amps, you'll be stuck borrowing other amps any time you want to "Jam" untill you can afford to get a bigger one.
Just like you took your time and educated yourself getting the guitar, don't be hasty to buy the first practice amp you see. If you take your time, and don't be too frugal, you can get a great practice amp that you'll play for the rest of your life. Even after you buy that huge Marshall stack, you'll be playing that little amp a lot, so don't blow it off thinking that it's just a stepping stone to something "better." [Reply]

Yeah, I got a small 10 watt Marshall. Nothing special but it works. Has phone out and CD line out jacks on it. I'll see if I can find a picture of it somewhere. [Reply]
It was only $70. They had a 15 watt model for $100. I thought about buying that but I figured if I'm gonna play for anyone, I'll just end up having to get a better one so why not get the cheaper one. It has really good sound and is pretty loud. [Reply]
