On Tuesday, the Cape Cod Times reported that Linda Zuern, a former member of the Bourne, Massachusetts Board of Selectmen and a Trump-supporting figure in the local Republican Party, had died of COVID-19.
Zuern died at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston of severe complications caused by COVID-19, according to the report. She was 70 years old and had not been vaccinated.
"She was a strong woman who believed in speaking the truth and defending our freedoms in America," Republican State Committeewoman Deborah Dugan told the Cape Cod Times. Dugan was at Zuern's bedside when she died. "I would describe her to people as a little woman but a mighty warrior."
For months, Zuern, a member of the pro-Trump group the United Cape Patriots, had promoted conspiracy theories about the pandemic on Facebook. She has shared articles accusing the World Health Organization of a coverup of the "Wuhan Virus" and claiming COVID-19 is cover for "globalists" to usher in "U.N. Agenda 2030" — a sustainable development initiative right-wing conspiracy theorists assert is a plot to create a one world government.
Zuern also expressed support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, posting their creed of "WWG1WGA" (Where We Go One, We Go All).
Zuern promoted the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment of COVID-19 during a Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates meeting in December and questioned whether officials "had looked into preventative measures that people could use besides a vaccine to help build up their immune system," the Cape Cod Times reported.
Peter Meier, chair of the Board of Selectmen, said Zuern cared deeply about others. "She definitely left her mark on the community," he added.
According to the report, Zuern and her mother contracted COVID-19 while returning home from a trip to South Dakota — a state where Republican-motivated policies have let the virus propagate with little control.

People do die of Covid. If someone's oxygen drops and they die from Covid and that was recorded, sure, count it.
Or virus gets into the lungs and there should be accompanying pneumonia.
What you fail to understand is the PCR test alone is not a diagnosis of medical illness and it is still sold that way in the media.
This story reported the girl died from Covid but in the very same article you glossed over they would be looking further.
The media has been enjoying playing people like you all along.
Can you acknowledge it is possible to die of another illness and have SarCov2 particles present but not responsible for death?
And the bigger thing you skip is that a chance of a healthy child dying from Covid is less than dying from lightning strike.

Alpa Tailor took the vaccine 'to protect her family'
A healthy mum-of-two died from complications caused by taking the AstraZeneca coronavirus jab, a coroner has ruled.
Alpa Tailor, 35, fell ill a week after taking the vaccine to "protect her family" in March 2021.
The inquest heard paramedics rushed Alpa to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery on April 8 as she was showing all the symptoms of a stroke, including slurred speech and a facial droop.
Doctors carried out blood tests and quickly diagnosed her with a new syndrome called vaccine-induced immune thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (VITT).
Professor Marie Scully, a consultant haematologist at University College London Hospitals, said at the time of Alpa’s admission around 250 people had been diagnosed with VITT in the UK and around 50 had died.
Alpa had surgery that afternoon to relieve pressure on her brain and doctors initially thought she was responding well to treatment.
However by April 22, intensive care doctors noticed a change in brain function and carried out a CT scan to find massive brain haemorrhaging.
A post-mortem found Alpa had multiple brain clots.
Jonathan Hyam, the neurosurgeon at UCLH who performed Alpa’s surgery said: “This condition was a relentless wave of clots in multiple areas.
“A week or so after the surgery I was actually quite optimistic, I thought we had got her through a real nasty condition and I was really surprised when I found out about the tragic demise approximately two weeks afterwards.”
Professor Scully told the inquest: “Nobody could have considered diagnosing a brand new syndrome at this stage. It's completely out of the blue.
