Jays are going to be able to hit. That's for sure.

Wade Davis' deal with the #Royals will pay him $1.25 million if he's on their big-league roster with $925,000 in incentives. He also has an opt-out if he doesn't make their opening-day roster.

Fun signing...but not expecting much. If he's able to pull a Holland, then it will be nice to have another championship vet in the bullpen for the younger guys.

I see the Royals having a 500 record this year.

Source confirms: Free-agent Michael Brantley in agreement with Blue Jays on a three-year contract, pending physical. First: @thehazelmae.

Very short season. This year, .500 ? I Would take that in a heartbeat! The vets on this team will not carry them to it. The kids will get some very good playing experience to use as a stepping stone to next year. A lot of this years success will be pitching, can we get enough quality innings from starters and can a good bullpen come out of camp.

"If" it all comes together? 80 - 85 wins

Good Stepping stone season ? 72 - 79 wins

If we sustain a lot of injuries? 65 - 71 wins

IMHO based off last years strong finish, I think we come without the bad start like last year, finish with a 72 to 79 win season. Not what we want but a good building block for the 22 season.

Wade Davis coming back is an interesting story and I hope for Wade and the Royals, he can have some success.

It has been since 2018 though that Wade Davis been any good. His last two seasons in Colorado have been pretty bad and even 2018 wasn't that good.

Low cost minor league deal, so it is worth checking him out.

Kelvin Herrera is still a free agent.

So Royals have now signed former Royals pitchers, Mike Minor, Ervin Santana, Greg Holland, and now Wade Davis.

I would not mind bringing back Trevor Rosenthal.

Last couple years for Wade have been brutal, but he generally pitched better when he was away from Coors Field. If you're going to get a lottery ticket it might as well be a guy leaving that death trap for pitchers.
