Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs potentially building new stadium in Kansas
Sassy Squatch 09:45 AM 03-29-2022

Chiefs prez Mark Donovan, when asked this AM about potential new stadium options, said the team has considered options in state of Kansas. They like Arrowhead and legacy of Lamar Hunt’s stadium, but have been pitched by Kansas developers on a bunch of options. Something to watch.

Otherwise leave it where it is, there is something to be said about coming over that hill down into the parking lot.
**** that... Arrowhead is so easy to get in our out compared to any downtown stadium, specifically when you are drawing fans, like myself, from outside of KC, so public transportation is secondary. I would just watch on TV. They need to leave Arrowhead the **** alone.

The Chiefs know the key is getting people from Lawrence, KS easier access to the games.

Sounds like Mayor Q would like a word.

Kansas City has proudly hosted the Chiefs since the early 1960s. We look forward to working with the Chiefs, our state of Missouri partners, and local officials to ensure the Chiefs remain home in Kansas City and Missouri for generations to come. https://t.co/h9XBn7L0VC

Arrowhead is a dream in terms of traffic. I've been to a bunch of NFL stadiums and KC is by far the easiest to deal with. Hell for the Bill's playoff game, I drove straight from my house to the stadium without any traffic. It was nuts. Same leaving. Got out in a flash.

No way the MO government allows both their NFL teams to leave.

Arrowhead cannot be replaced, especially with a stadium names after Grain or Wheat. :-)

Chiefs execs probably all live in Johnson County. They just want a shorter commute.

That would be a terrible location for the Royals stadium.

If it were to move to the Kansas side it would almost certainly have to be by the speedway or on the site of the old mall of the great plaines at 151st and I-35. But this sounds more like a threat for Jackson county to pony up the millions of dollars so the billionaire owner doesn't have to spend any money on a new stadium.

You can't move a Kansas City team to Kansas. That'll confuse fans of other teams.

This was already analyzed in 2002ish as the plans for renovating TSC (which happened in the 06 vote I believe) began.

The net finding was: Kansas didn’t have the resources for it. I suspect that’s still the case
