It is possible or the measures put in place helped because they were put in earlier.

We'll never know, unfortunately... and I think it's more likely this becomes the standard with Covid next winter and similar things in the future than saying "let's try only kind of locking down next time and see how many people die, then compare".

Like 80% of my posts are in this thread alone, I wonder what my CFR is.

Even if you went on the NYC prevalence of 25%, which is far higher than the state average, the IFR would be four times as high, and that's if no one else dies.

tl;dr version: your math sucks.
Yes, I was doing it in my head. Regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that two independent studies (Berkeley and Florida) show the death rate at .12%.

Seems like to some extent it's moved from 'don't overwhelm the hospitals' to 'save every life possible'.... obviously, it shouldn't be "well, if only 50 more people die, at least we can go to Papadeaux's again", but still.

But.... it's hard to stay the course and do the right thing when everyone is also antsy as fuck.
We were taking extreme precautions at work for over a month now and have 2 therapists testing positive this week. It’s crazy to me and shows just how contagious this can be. I feel like it could still likely blow up here quick.

Death(mortality) rate and case fatality rate are different things I believe.

There is no doubt the measures have helped that's not the argument.
