You're either stirring shit or didn't read it correctly. It currently shows the peak as having been 9 days ago.

:-)

Yes, I mistook the most relevant part of the information as the peak, which is when earliest date to relax "social distancing"

Spoiler!

I'm 99% sure this is happening. 3000 tests over a period of 2 days...

Idk why they have to be so vague about it. I may be completely misinterpreting what they're saying, but I'm 99% certain I'm not.

They probably don't want people freaking out about buying meat processed there (since there's no evidence that the virus is likely to be transmitted that way).

What's the point of having a "peak" date? Cases/deaths go down, then people start to relax and go out, and cases/deaths go up again. So who cares?

That's as good of an explanation as I've come up with. We're about to be guinea pigs for Missouri's "box in" strategy. Hope it works!

Cases lag infections, and deaths lag cases. If your death rate has peaked, you can generally surmise that you've hit your "best case" level of social distancing and can consider relaxing restrictions to see how things shift. If deaths are still climbing, you don't know if you're doing enough.

(Not that you should immediately relax restrictions at that point, but you can start thinking about it.)
