As Chiefs fans over the last few years since we won the Super Bowl there have been a lot of asymmetric games emotionally. And by that I mean that in almost any game we’ve had since - if asked before a game which would dominate - I would say I’d be more down after a loss than up after a win. Because we were the Chiefs and we were expected to win.
I genuinely think this game evens it out. As painful as it will be to deal with the ‘0-4 vs the Bengals’ narrative and everything that that entails for the endless Mahomes vs Burrow comparisons if we lose, the sweetness we’ll be tasting if we take these fuckers out is absolutely worth the risk. I am soooo happy we have the opportunity to attempt to avenge this and break their necks today.
Said another way, this is just a super high risk/reward game where I don’t feel disadvantaged emotionally ahead of time. Cannot. fucking. wait.
It's tough to really enjoy the ride sometimes, especially once the game starts, but I still try to take it all in.. and I remember doing so during the Bengals game earlier this year, just soaking in the heavyweight match up. And I've done it whenever at Arrowhead, taking in the crowd noise and insanity of the moment, like :13 or when they scored to take the lead against the Patriots in '18 and rage-high-fiving strangers.
Obviously want them to win more than they lose over the years, and this one would be fucking glorious... but wouldn't trade the new traditions for anything, meeting in KC for playoff games or ordering Joe's KC each year from afar.

I feel like Pacheco will be the difference maker this game. If we get a lead and start ripping 6-7 yard runs with him, the Bengals defense will just be gut punched and demoralized trying to tackle someone who runs like a wrecking ball.

It might be already. But, yeah. If two 7th rounders basically are significant in getting their respective teams to the SB, that's insane. [Reply]
