I have a student athlete who still hasn't recovered 8 months later and he's in pristine shape. It really stinks.

Wow. Vaxxed or no?

I'm not too worried about dying at this point, but I don't want to nosedive my quality of life if I get it.

It seems to be completely random.

I had no fever at all. A decent head cold was worse than what I suffered while I was actually sick. On the other hand, my family was really, really ill for a few days.

They have no after effects at all and here I am still wanting to sleep all day a month later.

Yikes. I hope you get back up to 100 percent soon.

And FWIW, my wife is vaxed. My youngest daughter is not. Their experiences were almost identical so it does indeed appear to be fairly random.

Wait so you are a student athlete that has Pitt Gorilla for a coach? :-)

Cases have absolutely plummeted around here. Happened right on schedule, but it's great to see.

Never did get around to getting vaccinated.

This story is about to come to a very sad end.

Colorado has started publishing their case, hospitalization, and death data with segmentations based on unvaxxed/vaxxed/boosted status. Not that I think anyone's going to change their minds about vaccines these days, but it's interesting to see the actual results.

In short, if you're boosted, go on with your life. The risk of death is all but zero.

That's where I'm at. Had covid a year ago September, boosted, and got my flu shot. I can't seem to catch anything now, even when those around me are getting ill. It's pretty ****ing cool, TBH.
