Nzoner's Game Room>2022 Hall of Fame Semifinalists

I feel like the list gets weaker every year. Maybe it's just because I no longer look starry-eyed at football players. I still don't understand who Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis made angry, because they deserve to be on this list over nearly every player on it.

Whatever. The next cut goes from these 26 to 15. So vote for the 15 that you'll begrudgingly allow even though they're not Deron Cherry and Albert Lewis.

Poll coming slowly, like that big dude who knocks on the players' hotel doors when they get in.

I mean, Eddie George? Really? Eddie George? He averaged 3.6 yards per carry in his career, and I'm not joking. That's a real stat. He was worse than Jerome Bettis.

Is there anyone in the world who would not pick Jamaal Charles over Eddie George in a mock draft?

Not voting for any RBs until Jamaal gets in.

I ran out at 8 with loose standards. I then reframed my thinking on voting so I could exclude the 11 who were least deserving. I'm looking at you, Eddie George.

I barely came up with 5, and Jared Allen was not one of them. I had forgotten Boselli's career was so short. He would've been a shoe-in otherwise.

I can legitimately vote for Allen, Barber, Hester, Holt, and Seymour, despite Seymour playing on a cheating team.

In a pinch, I could add Leroy Butler and Darren Woodson, who I'm pretty sure are the same guy, and Sam Mills. Butler and Woodson would mostly just be clearing the agenda for Cherry.

Every person who is eligible and has 136 or more career sacks is in the HOF, so one could assume that Allen and Ware will get in.

A lot of Hall of Very Good on that list.

Of course I protest voted for Albert Lewis, who was a better DB than anyone actually on the list. Otis Taylor got a protest vote as well. Really don't understand why he isn't HOF.

I could only find 7-8, and that was stretching things quite a bit.

I believe that a primary criteria for HOF induction must be "I'd pay money to watch that guy play." And most of those guys don't make that cut. Heck, half of my picks don't either.

This is a pretty lackluster class for sure.

I ended up pretty WR heavy and that was because I voted for Boldin so I had to consider a few other guys (Smith, Johnson, Wayne and Holt).

I could be overrating Anquan but man that guy was hard as a coffin nail. There just wasn't a ball he would hesitate to sacrifice his body to go get. And he was never a guy who could pull away into space so he was getting blasted on every target.

I think Wayne, Holt, Willis, Allen and Thomas are all no-brainers to advance. My next few votes are for guy I like or who I couldn't justify keeping out if I'm going to vote for the former. I could probably be convinced on Ware and Wilfork but didn't select either.

And he just kept taking the abuse. It definitely hurt his overall numbers as he'd miss a handful of games every year after getting rocked over the middle.
