It’s hypocritical as hell. Papi was named on the same report that got arod and Sosa blacklisted. Sosa has never admitted to using steroids. ARod was blacklisted well before testing positive again. The media dug and dug and dug for dirt on arod and bonds because they were assholes but swept the entire papi thing under the rug. There are plenty of players blacklisted who don’t have a positive test to their name.
That’s not even getting to the bullshit Mitchell report coordinated by a Red Sox Exec. The report that implicated mo Vaughn of all people but didn’t touch a single meaningful player from their World Series years. Hardly a coincidence.
Papi was protected his whole career because he was well liked which I blame a lot on ESPNs hard on for Boston sports. Which is totally undeserved because he was a blatant hothead but the media treated it as “cute.” [Reply]

There are two Ty Cobbs; one, the fictional demon invented by that odious lying fuckstain Al Stump, and the real Ty Cobb, who was nothing of the sort. The 1994 movie about him starring Tommy Lee Jones is basically the Braveheart of baseball.
Read Norm Coleman's The Life and Times of Ty Cobb. After reading it, I threw the Stump book and the Cobb DVD in the trash. [Reply]
