Special Teams cost the team 6 points on two drives in FG range. Special Teams gave the Colts 7 points on the punt fumble. Pretty huge swing on those 3 plays.

I feel like we should have been calling timeouts towards the end of the Chargers drive. When there was 1:00 left and they were right at the end zone, they were clearly trying to run the clock down and not leave us with time.

It was bad time management after that first down to the 10/11 yard line yeah (which is not new for Andy). Should have called a timeout immediately to preserve time for Mahomes. Doubt it would have made any difference anyway though.

Perhaps you did? The Chiefs controlled the entire game even with disastrous special teams errors. Against any other team (or most other teams), the Chiefs would have gotten beat easily in that one with all those errors. Against the Colts, they actually had the lead for most of it.

That of course isn't true at all. Plenty of games are controlled without a huge amount of points being scored. The Chiefs maintained a lead for the entire 2nd half until the final drive and squandered numerous opportunities to go up two scores (which would have effectively sealed it).

Ammendola, a 3, and a 1.
The fake kick because we knew Ammendola wouldn't make it, 3 (only would've been necessary because Kelce dropped 7.)
And the ball on the what, 3 yard line on the muffed KO? 7.

So 18 points. We handed them 18, and lost by 3.

The Chiefs had four drives in the second half (including the final 18 second last drive where Mahomes got picked on the final play). Mahomes put the team in position to score on three of them (field goal on the first after driving the length of the field to the two, ridiculous ST fake FG on the second, and missed FG on the third). On all three of those drives, the Chiefs also had the lead while they were driving. If they get nine points out of that drive instead of three (which would be the norm for this team in such spots), the game was won. Even six gets you to overtime.
