Nzoner's Game Room>Anyone ever use airplane wifi to stream a game?
loochy 06:36 AM 10-16-2021
I'll be on a flight to Hawaii during Sunday's game. Is the airplane wifi high enough bandwidth to support a stream? I searched and couldn't find any reliable information about speed.

I’ve tried but Delta wifi was horrible. Never could watch for more than 1-2 seconds with 30 seconds of buffering between. Best option I could find was to follow the text play by play on Yahoo sports. I hope your luck is better.

When I fly Southwest, they have a free live TV option through their app. It’s always worked for me. I watched the Seahawks vs Rams game with no issues.

Streaming from a third party probably wouldn’t work as well.

Funny.I missed most of the Bills game because I was getting a massage… in Hawaii.
You’ll live.
My Southwest wi-fi there was out. Even if up u might gets glitchy stream. Most airplan rides I just refresh espn game tracker.terrible.

Just be sure the Fasten Your Seatbelt light is on when Sorensen is in the game.

Just do a trial of Hulu and set it to record and then cancel it.

I've tried using airplane wifi to watch games, but they fly over so fast that I can only hook up for a few seconds.

To the op…it depends on what kind of plane you’re on. Some have live Directv on em, some have terrible internet, some have no internet at all.

I was able to when I flew United - set up the app ahead of time. Buy their WiFi (less than $10) & stream from my DirecTV app.

I had moderate luck with a stream for the first half. I couldn't find anything for the second half. The trick was to find a stream with a low enough bit rate. An 800k streamed sort of OK. The normal hd 4000k streams wouldn't go.

I just switched to a radio stream (https://onlineradiobox.com/us/kfeq/?cs=us.kfeq&played=1) that works well, so I can type on here while I listen.

All right gang. What about a wireless hotspot? Does such a thing exist that would work during a flight? I've never messed with them but assume they probably need cell coverage.. any kind of satellite option? I'm riding as a passenger on a military plane on Sunday (time TBD, but my luck is during the game) that certainly won't have wifi.

I streamed the second half of the last Raiders game on a Delta flight. It worked pretty good.
