'Everybody is susceptible': Why younger Canadians may be helping fuel the spread of COVID-19

https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/coron...nada-1.5516936

Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, said Sunday that those under 40 made up about 12 per cent of hospitalized cases.

"This statistic is important because it shows that younger age groups are also experiencing illness severe enough to require hospitalization," Tam tweeted.

Yeah, not far at all!

Are you still in the NY area or was it just for work?

I live in central New Jersey. It was just for work. I had projects there and north brothers island in the east river about 5 years ago.

So, the death rate among people under 40 is the same as the flu.

oaklandhater will be disappointed in this news, doesn't fit his doom and gloom narrative.

There's more to that story, if it's even true at all. If anything she should have worn the mask and let them fire her.

Saw on TV a photo of a waiting room on Italy that was empty for the first time in weeks after normally being packed.

"That's because all Italians are dead!!!" - OH

Canada may have a harder time beating C19 because they have longer winters than we do. I'm hoping for some sun shine to help slow it and hopefully stop it.

There is that but our population density outside of Toronto/Montreal/Vancouver is pretty low. The sun would be nice about now having been stuck in the house for about 6 months unless you snowmobile, ski or ice fish.

This time of year there isn't a lot of outdoor activities available, too cold or too much snow for golf/soccer/baseball and other summer stuff , lakes still frozen over and fishing is closed till may 21, but also too wet and not enough snow for skiing and snowmobiling.

I live in cottage country next to lake Nipissing one the biggest fresh water lakes in Ontario , it will be interesting to see if the big city folks flock up here to escape their apartments when it warms up.
