I know I'm going to try to be first in line, but what about the rest of you? I'm not sure if the death count is where the science community wants it to be, plus Birdbrain hasn't been sworn in, so I expect there will be delays, but that's beside the point.

Not really. Majority of their adult population is fully vaccinated. One of the highest in the world. Naturally as those vaccinated well surpasses those unvaxed, the numbers will start to tilt toward vaccinated cases. But overall the story is that hospitalizations are way down as are severe cases. I share your concern about the present spike potentially leading to a new variant, but that's going to happen anyway. Delta originated in India, after all. Alpha in the UK. Would it be better if more Americans got vaccinated? Of course, but you have to be realistic. Mandating masks freaked people out. And you want to force them to take vaccines which aren't even fully approved?
Beyond that, why do you care if people choose not to get stuck? [Reply]

If they could not get stuck in a vacuum I wouldn’t care at all.
Anti vax morons are driving increased and sustained community spread which
1. Puts my unvaccinated kids at risk and
2. Increases the likelihood of more new variants that are more virulent or resistant to the vaccine [Reply]

Because I know several people who have never gotten one.
1. Public health officials very strongly feel people should get their flu shots and there are annual campaigns, shots are free and available everywhere, workplaces do them, etc.

2. COVID and the flu are very different
Sure. But there’s never any panic or push about it from the media or government.
I guess because covid is new is why so much fear. [Reply]
