Not really. Majority of their adult population is fully vaccinated. One of the highest in the world. Naturally as those vaccinated well surpasses those unvaxed, the numbers will start to tilt toward vaccinated cases. But overall the story is that hospitalizations are way down as are severe cases.

I share your concern about the present spike potentially leading to a new variant, but that's going to happen anyway. Delta originated in India, after all. Alpha in the UK. Would it be better if more Americans got vaccinated? Of course, but you have to be realistic. Mandating masks freaked people out. And you want to force them to take vaccines which aren't even fully approved?

Beyond that, why do you care if people choose not to get stuck?
