developing.

The #Ravens are trading LT Orlando Brown to the #Chiefs, per me and @MikeGarafolo. A new blindside protector for Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City is trading its first-round pick Thursday night, along with three other picks in the 2021 and 2022 drafts, to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown and one pick in the 2021 draft and another in 2022, per sources.

Exactly. And we will over pay a bit IMHO to keep this young talented kid with an extended contract and I'm okay with that.:-)

The original question/topic: Is there a theoretical maximum price for a blindside protector if you have the league's best QB?

Here are all the things you've been trying to change the question/topic to:
-Is it important to protect your franchise QB with a good blindside protector?
-It's wise to "overpay a bit" for a franchise LT when you've got the perfect QB (again, the question is about finding the theoretical threshold of that payment, not overpaying "a bit")
-Biblical parables

None of those are the original topic/question.

Why am I repeating myself? Because you have yet to refute what I said. Why am I insisting you answer this? I didn't at first, but you were the one who jumped in with your first strawman of, "So you don't think a LT is very important??!?!?!?!" And when I tried to re-direct things back to my original point, you keep dodging the issue.

You know what... fuck it. It's just easier to call you stupid.

Did Houston "overpay a bit?" Or did they get fucking scalped so hard that they completely lost the ability to creatively adjust personnel as needed from offseason to offseason in order to stay be competitive in the NFL while they have a franchise QB in his prime*?

Veach didn't overpay a bit. He didn't overpay at all.

Houston just flat out overpaid (not "a little bit"). And that was the first domino of their downfall.

The dude is a massive human being what 37inch arms like Jesus he's a fucking wall out there. He is better then any of the LT that will be drafted right now. I don't give a fuck what we have for him. This was a great move and we barely have anything up for him.

Actually, this trade would be OK even if Brown only plays 2 seasons in KC (last yr of contract plus tag).

So, no, Veach did not overpay. Heck, you can now draft a developmental tackle this year or, preferably, next year and limit Brown's leverage. Or, you could decide to pay him.

Very much agree - if this ends up being a 1 year rental and he walks for only a 3rd round comp pick, then meh it was a little short sighted and an overpay. I just don't think thats possible. Literal worst case scenario is a tag and trade after 1 year and get the pick back.

I don't think we 'overpaid' unless Mahomes gets hurt.

That half a billion dollar QB won't do anyone a lick of good sitting on the sideline.

Has the kid said anything KC related yet besides the above arrival video?

Been busy but are people complaining about protecting Mahomes?
