Media Center>Purchased my new rig!
Mephistopheles Janx 06:53 PM 06-12-2021
First pre-built system I've purchased since I saved up my allowance to buy a used "Intel Compatible" 286 WAY back in the day as a kid.

CPU: Intel Corer i5-11600KF
RAM: 16GB DDR4/3200
MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z590 PRO WiFi
GPU: RTX 3070
HD: 1TB GIGABYTE AORUS NVMe M.2 SSD - Seq R/W: Up to 5000/4400 MB/s
CASE: Lian Li PC-008
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 Series 750W 80 PLUS GOLD
AIO: Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 360mm ARGB CPU Liquid Cooler with Dual Chamber Pump & Copper Cold Plate

CyberPower has an additional 5% off with SUMMIT as the coupon code.

Priced individually (including case fans, legit Win 10, and such) The system would have cost me $1700 to purchase the individual parts, plus tax and/or shipping... not including the time to put it all together and load up the OS.

$1650 shipped plus a "free" $50 gift card... but I won't see it until mid August.

Both updating and tweaking the bios settings are far more difficult than they should be, but through a lot of trial and error my friend finally figured it out.

Everything is working fine now, though.
Updating BIOS is always a nervous proposition. The newer mobos make it a lot easier. Glad you got through it. Now enjoy the speed and capacity of your updated rig.

I'm in.
NVMe is a legit underappreciated performance breakthrough that is not talked about as much as it should be. It's an insane performance increase. The 980 is gen 4 tech at ~7000MB/s read. The gen 5 NVMe drives are reportedly going to take another huge step forward to more than double the current rate of gen 4. But it would require a PCIe v5 compatible motherboard though. At PCIe v5, you can get bus bandwidth of 128GB/s over x16. Crazy....

It really shouldn't be a nervous affair these days though with current tech. Back in the day, if you accidentally lost power during a BIOS update your board was straight up fucked, nothing you could do. But these days, legit manufacturers can safely update the BIOS straight from Windows environment itself. It's infinitely safer than it used to be. They've made it stupid proof at this point. Honestly, when you install a new mobo, the first thing you should do is immediately update the BIOS.

Agreed. Newer mobos make it safe and itís one of the first checks I do. Shit used to be risky though, still canít quite shake that feeling.

Yep, still feel that nervous twitch each time updating BIOS. Even though it is super easy and I've not had it go wrong yet.
