I'm looking to pick up a new gaming laptop but can't spend a ton of cash. I'm looking to keep it under $1500.
I'm not particularly interested in playing the latest and greatest games. I tend to play older games that I can get for a bargain on Steam. For instance, I am currently playing through Borderlands 2. So it doesn't have to be state of the art.
Great advice, but I know nothing about these things. There are a lot of "deals" out there, but I don't want to end up with some POS graphics card. [Reply]
Well, I dont really pay attention to the laptop market but I would imagine the best your $1500 budget could get you would be a 3060 and come with either an intel or AMD processor depending on the manufacturer. Really no idea what the equivalent in AMD would be but their current laptop GPU list is only the 6600M, 6700M, and 6800M. Typically nvidia cards are a step up from AMD so I would guess the 3060 laptop would be like a 6700M? But dont quote me on that. [Reply]
Seems pretty decent to me. I would compare that laptop to similarly specc'd laptops from like ASUS and MSI and see what they are selling for.
But for $1300 I'm not sure how much better you are going to get. i7 processor, 3060, 1tb nvme, 15.6" screen from Dell who make pretty good displays, and 16gb of RAM. My only question would be how good is their cooling system on their gaming laptops? [Reply]
Couple Lenovo deals in there with a 3070 for under $1500. Not sure how good their gaming laptops are but their thinkpads are an industry standard. Worth keeping an eye out on that reddit regardless. [Reply]
