Nzoner's Game Room>Frank Clark fucking sucks
RealSNR 02:33 PM 09-15-2019
Guy has done NOTHING in two games. Barely any pressures to speak of against trash OTs.

Yeah, I'm in bitchy gameday mode. Don't care. I'm tired of paying out the ass for defensive players who don't make plays.

At least Justin Houston could dominate against bad teams after we paid him.

Yeah, that's football.

Do you think that Reggie White or Michael Strahan didn't have "Gimme sacks"?

And while it was time for Houston's tenure in KC to end, he did have a nice 2019 season, where he ultimately sat on his ass and watched yet another team go to the Super Bowl without him.

Elite QB >>> entire defense.
As Dane pointed out our D is far from bad. We had elite offenses before Mahomes got here but no D and it always ended in playoff disappointment. Team game...

Something going on
may be that stomach/intentional thing he has zapping his strength. Some of the YouTube stuff shows he just doesn’t have the power to bull rush. He has proper technique, the power just doesn’t come. He didn’t get too old in a year. It’s not effort.

We will hear about something he was dealing with after the season is over.

After 2018, Chiefsplanet kept saying "If the Chiefs could just have an average defense, the #16 overall defense, we'd be happy and win Super Bowls!!!".

The Chiefs Defense is #8 and people are bitching like they're still the #32.

Every player deals w injuries especially dlineman. Just stop it. He was simply overrated by Veach there's a reason the Seahawks traded him.

Doesn't mean Veach is a bad GM but it was a really bad trade. Luckily our team is so loaded, partially due to a lot of moves Veach has made, that it doesn't matter we still should win SB this year (hopefully).

That Veach guy is pretty damn good at player evaluations. :-)

And even if Clark does nothing else ever again, you make that trade again. We don’t win a SB without Clark’s performance in the playoffs. We had waited long enough.

Do you think they win the SB last year without Clark? Can only assume you do based on the post above.

Cause I’m telling you, probably not. His edge, swagger, physicality, relentlessness, etc. was a huge reason why the defense was able to answer the bell against maybe the two most physical offenses in the league in Tennessee and San Francisco.

The Seahawks keep Frank Clark, they beat the 49ers in the last game of the season, securing the #1 overall seed and make the Super Bowl.

Instead, the Seahawks trade Frank Clark, get the #5 seed and watch the 49ers and Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

I don't give a flying fuck if they gave up THREE #1's and $200 million dollars for Frank Clark because the Chiefs won the Super Bowl BECAUSE of Frank Clark

They won because of Mahomes lmao. But Clark helped out too.

This is an overly convoluted way of saying Frank Clark was better in the playoffs than Dee Ford and didn't fuck over the chiefs like Ford did. Just say that lol. But the Chiefs won the Superbowl because of Mahomes.

The way I remember 2018 is Mahomes was the MVP. Historic season. He couldn’t have done more. The failure was on the defense for unable to stop 3rd and long several times. Clark got them off the field in 2019.

Well, since Favre didn't even try to avoid Strahan on the record setting sack, I know that he had gimme sacks.

And I am sure White did too.

But, I do think that examining Houston's overall play should have factored into the contract negotiations, because Houston's 22 sack season was not as dominant as other 20 sack seasons.

Houston was a very, very good player, but as it turns out, his 22 sack season was an anomaly. Out of his 10 seasons, he only reached double digit sacks 4 times, and outside of the 22 sack season, his highest sack total was 11. He had 11 sacks twice, and one season with 10 sacks.

Those are basically Dee Ford type numbers. The three seasons before the 22 sacks, he had 5.5, 10, and 11 sacks.

After the 22 sack season, it took him 6 more seasons before he reached double digit sacks again.

Hopefully, Chris Jones will not be a repeat of the Houston situation, and hopefully Frank Clark can get back to the regular season form that landed him the massive contract. But, if all they do is show up and show out in the playoffs, let's hope their play will result in securing more Lombardi Trophies for our favorite professional football team.

There's really no appreciable difference in the on-the-field performance between Houston and Clark.

We'd have won the Super Bowl last year if you swapped Clark for Houston right before the playoffs started.
