Skip has to take the opposing viewpoint to Sharpe. It's how the show works. And Shannon always gets the easier viewpoint; Skip always takes the position that's harder to defend. Which makes sense as he's the professional journalist, and Shannon is just a former player turned TV personality.
And I'm pretty sure that Skip gets some of his material from the internet. I've read comments about the Chiefs/Mahomes/Andy/whatever online and then a day or two later Skip is using those exact same arguments on the show. So some of his takes aren't even his originally. But it makes for better TV. [Reply]

I think it’s the other way around. Skip is an Oklahoma/Mayfield guy and cannot stand seeing Mahomes outshine Baker. Shannon is just playing the cheerleader role to offset Skip’s hater approach. [Reply]
