They should have hired Capitan Obvious to sail that ship and tell people it was a bad idea to get on board in the first place.

Okay so, true story....

A co-worker quarantined himself after he found out I had Covid. He was pressured to get tested. He explained to the particular group pressuring him that he cannot drive and he wasn't going to Uber and expose others to him. He was told he probably had Covid. He said he had about half a day where he was a little congested and that was it. They insisted he get tested even saying he should call an ambulance to take him to get tested!!!

He continued to refuse and said he would do his quarantine. Finally they relented and said even if he got tested at that point it would be pointless (pun intended). The still however insisted that he "probably" had Covid.

Now, give me the over\under that he was counted as a case.

Good news\Bad news....

Bad news..

ICU is getting hit and down to 15% available beds in the KC area. 25% of ICU beds are Covid at the moment.

Daily new hospitalizations are still spiking and still mostly from the Mo side but the Ks side is starting to rise.

Good News...

Hospitalizations to Cases rate is lower than it was a week ago and about the same level it has been running since August

Daily New deaths are dropping significantly across the KC area. Overall and on the Ks side the rate is at its lowest since March. The Mo side is at its lowest since June.

Regular hospital beds are still at are at 33% which is around average availability.

I've read that the cruise lines are doing some free cruises as they test out their Covid protocols. It looks like they need a little more work.

I saw the first harbinger of a good future today. I got an advertisement in the mail for a cruise. I haven't seen one of those in a long time. That must mean that they're starting to gear back up for normal business at some point in the measurable future.

I would say mostly 3. In particular, Young people that think there direct consequences from getting covid are low, which is generally true. But some of them still end up in the hospital and some of them end up spreading it to higher risk individuals, sometimes extended family.

Bars being open is a mistake. I think colleges should be primarily online where practical. Obviously some classes can't be. But too many colleges started out in person for everyone.

The only one I would have really tried to keep in person the whole time is K-6.
