People make light of everything.

It's our way of masking the pain of our own lost lives. We are not the Greatest Generation, and we are not the Generation of Love. We had no age of exploration, no manly war in which to prove ourselves. We're just a group of coddled, chubby men who grew up with television and fast food, and who waddle off to mundane jobs in mundane cities from mundane homes. We are a generation that has no highs, no lows, just a monotonic hum of a life whose only crescendos are measured in pornography and high scores of video games. In the great flowing river of history, we are not even a ripple. That, and it's kind of funny to think about having no feet.
