Patteeu Memorial Political Forum>Biden-Harris Admin looking for "outside firms" to police speech
Discuss Thrower 11:05 AM 05-03-2021

The Biden admin is considering using outside firms to track extremist chatter by Americans online, an effort that would expand the govts ability to gather intel but could draw criticism over surveillance of citizens. @ZcohenCNN & @KatieBoWillCNN reporthttps://t.co/VI7wbYvLXJ

It would be a dereliction of duty not to pay attention to violent threats / terrorist threats and such said in public places like internet boards. Thanks to a handful of dipshits over the years, CP is probably monitored to some degree.
lol you really believe that's what it's about?

Anything critical of the dem's will be "extremist"

Dumbfuck

So, CP will be down to about 10 posters in DC. You'll be locked up, as will dozens of others. Is that what you are saying?

Um no. If the government wants to spy on you they need a warrant.

Or, it can log on to the website you are posting terrorist threats on and read them like any member of the public. JFC...don't be stupid.

what you're conveniently leaving out is: Who is defining "extremist", and how is it being defined?

As I've been preaching for a few years now......ALL citizens should be frightened of this, but right now, one party is silencing the other and therefore, it's seen as some righteous victory.

The pendulum always swings back, and when it does, you folks will be crying the loudest when your speech is labeled as something you dont think it should.

Observing things that can be seen by anyone in public generally isn't considered "spying" under any reasonable use of the term. If I read what you posted on twitter, I didn't spy on you, I just logged onto twitter like anyone else can do.

Things you do in public aren't private.
It isn't that complicated.

Spin it however you like, it is a threat to free speech. You are an authoritarian and believe nebulous entities should be able to help censure those you disagree with.

Were this Bush or Trump you'd have your panties in a bunch.

Having potential consequences for things you say in public is a threat to free speech? I suppose.

You don't think Bush and Trump monitored for extremist chatter online?
This thread just gets dumber and dumber.
