Patteeu Memorial Political Forum>Is your employer requiring you to get the vaccine?
DJJasonp 08:58 AM 04-24-2021
On Thursday, the UC and CSU systems in california announced they would require all students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated prior to coming back for the Fall semester.

Curious if this is a trend (or just the start of one)?

No. Basically everything you said was wrong. Which is about average for you.

But, the BEP Flavor of the Month Dr. Risch says that he heard from clinicians that 60% of new cases are coming from people fully vaccinated!

Meanwhile, actual data shows that just 5,800 out of 77 million fully vaccinated people have had breakthrough cases.

So, just a tad lower than 60%....

Thats just not true... people who've had the shot have been re-infected, people have suffered varying degrees of bad side effects

Nope—not at ALL.

Making an assertion is not factual.

You think that a vaccine which has an efficacy of 95%+ isn't that effective?

I'm not arguing efficacy, just pointing out that her statement is not untrue... there are documented cases

That's how vaccines work. That doesn't make it ineffective. These vaccines are actually very effective compared to others.

Unless you agree that 95%+ efficacy isn't that effective, as she claims, then she is wrong.

Of course there are breakthrough cases. The vaccines don't offer 100% protection.

The whole notion of “boosters” should be a concern to everyone even the most pro-Vax folks. Why does my body need boosters if this is 95% effective? If it loses efficacy why?

Frankly, the best defense has always been not being fat.

Except the vaccine makers made the bold claim they were something like 95% effective. They lied, because when they first came out, there's no way they could know that still being in a trial phase.

Dr. Risch says it doesn't bode well from a public health standpoint, even if it only reduces one symptom in someone if they got re-infected. So from the point of view of prevention they are not effective. From reducing only one or two symptoms you may claim they are, but that's not what they promoted.

Yup.

Here's a good explanation of that: https://www.livescience.com/covid-19...explained.html

Hint: It doesn't mean that 5% of those who take it will get covid...

Determining efficacy was one of the primary goals of the clinical trials. You do realize that each vaccine went through clinical trials, yes?

.008% based on the recent data, but I'm sure that there have been undocumented breakthrough cases.

Not that effective...
