Man, terrible news. I never really knew the guy other than to follow his cooking threads. His dip into sous vide was one of the more interesting things I've read on here.

I would like to reach out to his wife to find out if there was an organization that was close to his heart that we could raise money for, but dealing with someone from an online bulletin board probably isn't at the top of her list. I really feel like there's something that we could do collectively, though. Perhaps we could raise some money and donate it to the American Diabetes Association in his honor. What do you think?

I was thinking the same thing. I've had many family members afflicted with the dibeetus to varying degrees. I'd be happy to throw in a few bucks in his name.
