Nzoner's Game Room>Do our 2 new OT's fit the scheme that Mahomes wants to play?
JakeF 03:42 PM 10-15-2021
Mahomes might be the best scrambling QB in NFL history. He loves to scramble around and create passing lanes in the defense to throw the ball.

The reason why they want Mahomes to stay in the pocket is because our huge, mauling tackles are not built for running around. They are both built to wall off the pocket and protect a spot. They are best when a QB takes a shorter drop, forcing DE to turn up sooner to go through 6'7" 340lbs of OT.

Both of our tackles might be good, but we are asking them to do things they are not really suited to do.

Do we really want to give Orlando Brown a new $20m a year contract, then ask him to play a scheme he isn't built for?

Are we going to ask our $500m Quarterback to play a different type of football than the one that won us a Super Bowl?

All 3 players might be good players, but that still doesn't mean they fit each other.

???

They both lack the pass pro finesse that Fisher and Schwartz brought, but more make up for it in the run game... as evidenced by the PPG stats laid out by PB

The O line looks as bad as ever. Watch a Bucs game. If Mahomes had Brady time in the pocket we'd score a touchdown on every drive

In your opinion, is that because Mahomes mobility fits Fisher and Schwartz better? Brown and Niang are maulers and not as athletic.

Mahomes athleticism and instincts can be made to work with any combination of reasonably talented linemen, IMHO

The ppg stats seem to indicate that he's benefitting from a more balanced attack

Daily Dose! Sound up, eyes on the OL as they block this designed stunt by Buffalo. The Bills are spying Pat and trying to get him to run into the spy man, but it doesn't work and he has all day in the pocket. Great effort by Trey as well. #MitchsDailyDose #Chiefs #ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/TeV3nUo02w

Jake.. You might be the dumbest person on this board, and that's really an accomplishment.

Congrats.

Exactly one thing has held the Chiefs offense in check this year: turnovers.

I agree with you on Baltimore and LA. They didn’t lose to Buffalo because of turnovers. They kicked our butts.

It’s too early to tell but we may look back and regret cutting Fisher and trading for Brown. Orlando Brown really struggles with speed rushers.

We didn’t lose because of turnovers alone, but turnovers kept us from scoring 30+.

We threw a pick on first and goal from 8 and Mahomes dropped the snap on 2nd and 10 from the Buffalo 15.

If one of those drives goes for a TD and the other a field goal, we score 30.

Another turnover directly resulted in 7 for the Bills.

Eliminating or limiting the turnovers alone make that a pretty close game.

Exactly. Every game we’ve lost have been the result of turnovers.
