Nzoner's Game Room>Anyone had employer not pay you?
Titty Meat 01:31 PM 10-15-2021
To keep it short I was working a part time job the place kept delaying the opening so I quit. They owe me a few hundred bucks but keep making up excuses and are about 3 weeks behind from when I was oringially supposee to get paid.

What are my options here?

You can file a complaint with the department of labor.

It's been so long that I honestly cannot say I remember.

A buddy of mine had a similar issue with an employer not paying him in Lenexa around 20 years ago. He was told to file a complaint with the department of labor and/or file a civil suit. I'm sorry, that's all I remember..... no recollection if it was ever resolved.

I got fired from a job when I was 21, the owner of the place told me to fuck off and he isn't going to pay me. I called the department of labor or whatever and one phone call from them and I had my paycheck on the way.

I’d bet anything they won’t do anything about a few hundred bucks

Did the business ever open? If they kept delaying the opening and still haven't, that should tell you something. You can try your department of labor, but my guess is the business owner owes a lot of people and isn't paying anyone.

At a contract side job I had with a startup. They'd pay 15 days into the following month, which always annoyed me because I suspected they'd ditch out on the last paycheck.

Which of course they did, excuse after excuse. Finally, after multiple reasonable waits and escalations, I emailed all the employees that still worked there and told them what to expect for their last paycheck. One of the emails got through to the owner's wife because the employee was gone and I guess she was the catchall. Got paid the next day. Funny how that works.

Step 1) complaint to your state board of labor
Step 2) If step 1 doesn't resolve, take them to small claims court - no lawyer needed.

Yes there was an hourly pay plus a POS system I'd log into to track hours. Also have text messages as well.

You could contract Covid and cough in their face.
