I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.
Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)
Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:
Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel
Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too. http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75 [Reply]

Super nimble. great power to weight ratio.
Have to baby it a bit the first 500 miles or so, but I rode a used on two weeks ago, and it'll get up and move for sure. 5th gear isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be on the highway at 70mph. I'm about 6'1", and about 240 and it hauls my fat as around with no problem.
If you like the looks of them (which is what initially drew me to them), take one for a spin. Mucho Fun.
And....I've gotten tons of looks on it. Not that it's the reason I bought it, but it's cool to see someone appreciate it. A few compliments at gas stations (which is frequent lol). My gas light came on at about 60 miles. I filled up and put about 1.4 gallons in it - so definitely have a decent window to fill up once it comes on.
You need to move to AZ where you can ride that bad girl all year long :-) [Reply]
Yeah, I haven't taken my hog out since I got the new stem. I hope to get it out for a ride on Saturday. I'll let you fuckers know how that goes. [Reply]

Yeah, Sportsters can get up and go. Weren't they originally built for racing? [Reply]
Came very close to pulling the trigger on trading in my fatboy. 13 street glide, black pearl paint job. Custom wheels, 22k, 7500 for my 05 fatboy, and 3k for whatever in store upgrades. The stage one upgrade, air intake, quick release sissy bar, etc.
After really being tempted I decided to wait another year or two. My 05 only has 17k miles, it's paid off, runs and looks great. [Reply]
